About the Tracker

The Accessibility Tracker was developed to aid in the testing and remediation of software, services, and web content such as videos and documents that are available on our websites.  See the current status of our Accessibility Compliance Project.

The two primary sections of this site are:

Products Being Tested

A listing of products and services that are either currently owned or licensed by the University as well as new products and services that are going through the purchasing process.  The Products Being Tested page has a filterable list of Key information about a product, such as the product contract language, Accessibility Conformance Report, both the internal and external product owner, and an overall history of accessibility testing in relation to that product.

Issues identified during testing are entered individually so we can track the status of each issue along with the issue impact information (who is impacted, what types of assistive technology, and whether the impact will blocker the user from completing a process).

Further, there is the ability for staff working with vendors to enter notes throughout the remediation process.

Web Content

The Web Content page catalogs content delivered via the UMass President's Office websites, including video/audio, documents such as PowerPoint or PDF files, and the content on HTML web pages.  Content items that are found to be inaccessible are entered individually into the tracker with their accessibility issues identified in a summary along with the content owner information, be it an internal person or department or an external entity.  The content will be reviewed to determine if it can be removed from the site or switched to an archived status (meeting certain criteria), or if it needs to be remediated.  Each piece of web content being tracked will be given a remediation priority level and current status.

A guide on Accessible Web Content, including remediation options and examples, is available to help you navigate the remediation process.
